In and around Kaltern there are numerous ways to experience an active holiday. In spring and autumn Kaltern is an ideal starting point for bicycle tours and hikes in the Unterland and Überetsch.
In winter one can experience the magic of the Christmas markets in Bozen and Meran.

The website wein.kaltern.it provides information about the numerous events that are centered around wine. For example, the Wine Walking Day in April or the Kaltern Wine Days in September etc.

Additional attractions are the Seespiele Concerts on Lake Kaltern in the summer and various sporting events throughout the year.

SHOPPING

Just a 7-minute walk from the Tröpfltalhof is a small grocery store called Margareth.
Directly on the roundabout at the entrance to Kaltern you will find an organic shop, which sells organic products. Opening times:
Margareth: 7:00 - 12.00 and 15.30-18.30
Giannibio: 8.30 - 12.30 and 15.00 - 18.30

Additional grocery stores, butcher shops and green grocer are located on the edge of town.
In the centre of Kaltern you will find many boutiques and shops of all kinds, including souvenir shops.

SPORTS ACTIVITIES

Lake Kaltern, the warmest lake in the Alps, is located 1.5 kilometres from the Tröpfltalhof. The official season is from May to September but, of course, one can also swim at other times! Here you will find the opening times for the various Lidos on the lake.
